Faith and Unity: The First Holy and Divine Liturgy at the ‘Saint Stephen the Great’ Parish in Harrow – London XI

On Sunday, the 3rd of August 2025, on the 8th Sunday after Pentecost (the Multiplication of the Loaves), with the blessing of His Eminence Atanasie the Romanian Orthodox Archbishop of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the newly established Parish of 'Saint Stephen the Great' in Harrow – London XI celebrated the first Holy and Divine Liturgy.
The service was officiated by the parish priest, Father Aurel Sandu Nicolaescu, in the presence of a number of faithful from the local area and nearby communities, who gathered with spiritual emotion to witness and partake in this historic moment for the life of the new parish.
In his message at the end of the service, Father Aurel expressed his gratitude to God and to all those who contributed to the establishment of the parish, underlining the importance of dedicating time to God and trusting in the power of prayer. He reminded the faithful that nothing can be fulfilled without God, and that this new beginning is a clear sign of divine providence and the grace of God working in the lives of those who seek Him with a pure heart.
This day marked a moment of profound spiritual joy and unity, opening a new chapter of Romanian Orthodox presence, mission, and pastoral service in this area of London.
